Reason: Coping Strategy:
Irritability
While quitting, you may be bothered or annoyed by the smallest things. Reward yourself often by doing the simplest, smallest things you enjoy.
Anger
If you smoked to alleviate anger, finding other ways to get rid of anger might be tough while you are quitting. Learn constructive ways to release anger, such as exercising or talking it out
Grieving and Crying
While you grieve the end of smoking, you might notice the resurfacing of other sad feelings. These emotions were repressed for some time. Allow these feelings to come out in a safe place, so you don't feel vulnerable in public.
Giddiness and Laughter
If negative emotions can be repressed, so can positive emotions. This may cause unusual giddiness and unexpected laughter. Allow yourself to feel positive and enjoy these positive emotions as they surface.
