el_class=&#8221;mobile-text-padding&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Cigarros peque\u00f1os y delgados<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Los cigarros peque\u00f1os y delgados \u2014que incluyen conocidas marcas como Swisher Sweets, Dutch Masters, Phillies y Black &amp; Milds\u2014 est\u00e1n hechos con picadura de tabaco envuelta en hoja de tabaco. La diferencia, comparado con los cigarrillos, es que los cigarrillos est\u00e1n hechos de tabaco envuelto en papel que no contiene tabaco. No obstante, estos productos tienen mucho en com\u00fan. Los cigarros contienen las mismas sustancias y compuestos qu\u00edmicos cancer\u00edgenos presentes en los cigarrillos, y no son una alternativa segura a estos.<a href=\"#ref\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a> Aunque el humo del cigarro es generalmente similar al del cigarrillo, contiene niveles m\u00e1s elevados de sustancias qu\u00edmicas nocivas, como las nitrosaminas del tabaco (TSNA por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), el mon\u00f3xido de carbono (CO), el amoniaco y el alquitr\u00e1n. <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a> Estos son los datos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fumar cigarros puede aumentar tu riesgo de contraer c\u00e1ncer del pulm\u00f3n, es\u00f3fago, laringe (cuerdas vocales) y cavidad bucal (labios, lengua, boca, garganta). <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>3,<\/sup><\/a> <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Fumar cigarros se asocia con enfermedades de las enc\u00edas y la ca\u00edda de los dientes. <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Fumar cigarros en exceso aumenta el riesgo de contraer enfermedades pulmonares, como el enfisema y la bronquitis cr\u00f3nica.<a href=\"#ref\"><sup>6,<\/sup><\/a><a href=\"#ref\"><sup> 7<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Los que fuman muchos cigarros y los que inhalan profundamente, podr\u00edan correr un mayor riesgo de padecer de enfermedad coronaria.<a href=\"#ref\"><sup>8,<\/sup><\/a><a href=\"#ref\"><sup> 9<\/sup><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Los cigarros cortos (3 a 4 pulgadas) y delgados (conocidos en ingl\u00e9s como cigarillos), son los m\u00e1s populares,<a href=\"#ref\"><sup>10<\/sup><\/a> y por lo general no tienen filtro. Como resultado, estas compa\u00f1\u00edas eluden la prohibici\u00f3n sobre los cigarrillos saborizados y pagan una tasa menor de impuestos. <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>11,<\/sup><\/a> <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>12<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Los j\u00f3venes y los cigarros peque\u00f1os<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A partir de septiembre del 2009, la Administraci\u00f3n de Alimentos y Medicamentos (FDA por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) prohibi\u00f3 los cigarrillos saborizados, excepto los de mentol. La FDA ha indicado que piensa extender la prohibici\u00f3n a los cigarros saborizados, excepto los de mentol, pero esto no ha ocurrido a\u00fan. Los cigarros peque\u00f1os y delgados a menudo contienen sabores de dulces o frutas como manzana agria, cereza, uva y chocolate, atractivos para los ni\u00f1os y los adultos j\u00f3venes. <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>13,<\/sup><\/a><a href=\"#ref\"><sup> 14<\/sup><\/a> Las compa\u00f1\u00edas de tabaco tienen una larga historia de desarrollar y comercializar productos de tabaco saborizado como \u201ciniciadores\u201d que atraen a los ni\u00f1os. <a href=\"#ref\"><sup>15<\/sup><\/a> Los cigarros peque\u00f1os y delgados no solo est\u00e1n saborizados, sino que son baratos.
