Local Initiatives
Tobacco Free Parks and Beaches--- Secondhand smoke is harmful, tobacco contains more than 7,000 chemicals. Hundreds are toxic and about 70 are known to cause cancer. Children who breath secondhand smoke have higher risk of having lung problems, ear infections and asthma.-- Tobacco Free Parks protects people from exposure to secondhand smoke, promotes healthy lifestyle, models tobacco-free norms for children and young adults, lowers tobacco usage rates and reduces tobacco litter and fire risk.
