Florida’s leading cause of preventable disease and death is smoking. 5 Changing behaviors related to tobacco is critical in Florida, where about 2.7 million adults still smoke. 6 If current smoking rates continue, 270,000 Florida children alive today who are younger than The Okaloosa County Tobacco-Free Partnership is a local group of community members dedicated to saving lives by reducing tobacco use.
