The Tobacco Free Partnership of Broward County is dedicated to creating policy changes to prevent or reduce the health risks associated with use of all tobacco products. Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) is a statewide initiative program to mobilize, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against Tobacco. We currently have 25 active SWAT clubs in 10 middle and 15 high schools in Broward. Contact us to see if the club is offered at your school or reach out to your principle, any student can join at any time free of cost. In Broward County, 13.6% of adults who are current smokers (2019) and 2.3% for youth. 17.8% of youth in Broward currently use e-cigarettes, and 7.3% of adults (2019)

The task force members and Florida Department of Health in Broward County work together to educate city commissioners and decision makers on the benefits of having tobacco Point-of-Sale zoning ordinances to counteract tobacco retailers' proximity and density in our communities.
