County SWAT Information

Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) mobilizes and equips youth to protect their generation from the tobacco and vaping industries. Sumter County SWAT members build leadership skills and plan activities to help raise awareness and support for policies that benefit the community.

Tobacco Free Florida across the state is participating in an annual cleanup event. Tobacco Free public spaces is important to the health of the environment, appearance, and experience both for millions of residents of Florida as well as the millions of people who visit each year. Join us to make a difference and keep our parks clean. Bags, gloves, grabbers and sanitizer will be provided. FREE t shirts for the first 30 volunteers. Bring your sunblock and wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

Since 2009, CivCom has collaborated with more than 50 public health organizations throughout the United States—including the Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida, Blue Zones, and the Oregon Health Authority. Our focus is in Florida, where we are working to end nicotine addiction in partnership with 24 tobacco-free coalitions.
