Partnership Information
The Tobacco Free Partnership of Hillsborough County assists the community with tobacco-related matters, including prevention, cessation, second-hand smoke, advocacy, and Students Working Against Tobacco, also known as SWAT.
County SWAT Information
Students Working Against Tobacco is a statewide program to mobilize, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against "Big Tobacco". For more information on the Hillsborough County SWAT Chapter, please contact [email protected]

In 2019, in Hillsborough County, 16% of adults who are current smokers can be compared to 14.8% statewide. In 2020, 11.9% of Hillsborough County middle and high school students have ever tried a cigarette. Report underage sales at 1-866-540-7837.

Youth & Young Adult Essay Contest

The youth & young adult essay contest is open to anyone under 21 years of age and is sponsored by QuitDoc Foundation and by 17 of the 67 Tobacco-Free Partnerships in Florida. It aims to educate the public on measures to reduce access to and use of tobacco and nicotine and the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine use, plus help prevent the initiation of tobacco use among youth. The prize is a US$100 gift card to an establishment that does not sell tobacco products.
