Tobacco Free Suwannee began in 1998 and is dedicated to fostering a healthier community by protecting the people of Suwannee County from the dangers of tobacco.

25.4% of Suwannee County adults smoke - compared to only 14.8% of their statewide counterparts. 7.1% use smokeless tobacco - compared to only 2.2% statewide.
Tobacco Free Suwannee focuses on the following: - Helping our school district pass a comprehensive tobacco free schools policy and to communicate and enforce the policy once it is passed. - Working with our local government to pass tobacco free parks ordinances - Empowering our local youth to influence their peers to make fact-based decisions regarding nicotine use
